Yousuf Halim to be introduced as head of Afghan Supreme Court

Sayed Yousuf Halim will be introduced as the head of Afghanistan’s Supreme Court, Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah said on Monday during minister’s council.

Mr. Halim will be inaugurated very soon, Abdullah said while asked him to protect justice with honesty and independence.

On July 1, the government introduced Mr. Halim as the nominee for the Supreme Court membership to the lower house of parliament for a vote of confidence.

He was approved as a member of Afghanistan’s Supreme Court by securing 103 votes.

While explaining his plans to Afghan parliament Halim pledged neither any criminal would go unpunished nor any innocent person would get punishment under his service in the Supreme Court.

If judiciary system could implement the law justly, people trust will be increased on courts and it may reduce the level of crimes and insecurity in the country.
