30 Malaysian tourists visit Herat’s attractions

As Afghanistan’s tourism sector starts to improve, a group of 30 Malaysian tourists recently visited Herat where they took in the sights the province has to offer.
Ahmadullah Muttaqi, head of Herat’s information and culture department, met with the group and assured them of improved security. He said visitors now had no problems while visiting the historical sites and other attractions in the province.
He said this improved security situation has led to an increase in foreign tourists.
According to him, more than 700 foreign tourists have visited Herat in the past solar year (since March 2024). This was far more than recorded the previous solar year.
