Afghan Asylum Seekers Arrive in Greece
Afghan refugees who have left Afghanistan to seek asylum in European countries especially in Germany have flooded to Greece with their families.
The Afghan refugees have made their way to the Lesbos Island in Greek through Turkey either in families or in big groups of men.
Afghan immigrants complain about war and violence and name it as the mean reason for their escape from Afghanistan.
“In my country Afghanistan, it is about thirteen years the war is going on, it is a war zone,” Hussain an Afghan refugee in Greece said.
Shahram another Afghan asylum seeker said,” war is going on in all provinces of Afghanistan; if I was there I would have been killed”.
The civil war in Afghanistan is officially over, but in reality Afghanistan is still a war zone and a very dangerous place to live. Violence, clashes and victims of killings by local warlords and clans are an everyday occurrence.
Therefore; thousands of Afghans have rushed to seek asylum in the European countries particularly in Germany after the country announced the welcomes the refugees.
