Afghan delegation led by deputy PM leaves for Uzbekistan

An Afghan delegation led by Abdul Salam Hanafi, the acting deputy prime minister, left for Uzbekistan on Saturday morning, said Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA).

The delegation is expected to discuss trade, transit, railway, electricity and other issues with Uzbek officials.

Representatives from the administrative office, civil aviation authority, central bank, security sector, media and national traders are also part of the delegation.

Afghanistan’s Higher Education, Public Works, Trade, Economy and Public Health Ministers are also accompanying Hanafi.

This is the first official trip of the IEA to Uzbekistan since they gained power on August 15.
