Sources told Ariana News that high-level Afghanistan-Pakistan negotiations in Turkey concluded without a positive outcome, with the talks facing significant challenges throughout the process.

According to the sources, the Afghan delegation emphasized that controlling attacks inside Pakistan is the responsibility of Pakistani security forces, and Afghanistan can only guarantee that its territory is not used against Pakistan.

The sources also noted that U.S. drone flights from Pakistani airspace into Afghanistan and the activities of ISIS-affiliated groups added to the disagreements. While the Pakistani delegation initially agreed to some measures, they later reversed their position following phone consultations, stating that they could not control these issues.

Sources added that Qatari and Turkish mediators repeatedly sought to maintain a constructive atmosphere, but deep mistrust and conflicting security interests prevented progress.

Ariana News sources emphasized that this deadlock highlights the fragility and complexity of Afghanistan-Pakistan relations, and that only genuine diplomacy and dialogue can prevent further escalation along the border.
