Afghanistan’s Attorney General Office (AGO) has summoned tow former mayor of Kabul city to respond to the prosecutor’s office, Basir Azizi AGO spokesman said during a press conference in Kabul on Tuesday.

According to Azizi complaints were filed against Rohullah Aman and Mohammad Younus Nawandish, the two former mayors of Kabul city.

The AGO spokesperson does not want to talk about the charges they were summoned for, but vows that any complaint which reaches to this office will be investigated.

“The Attorney General Office has obliged itself to investigate any complaint, and we will share the result of these investigations with the people of Afghanistan very soon,” Azizi said.

Nawandish is regularly visiting the prosecutor’s office since two days to respond to the questions, but seems that Aman is not willing to show up for investigations.

“Mohammad Younus Nawandish comes to the prosecutor’s office since two days to respond to the questions, we will not disclose the result of our investigations before we complete our findings, I would like to call upon Mr. Rohullah Aman to come to the Attorney General Office for prosecutions,” Azizi added.

Although it is not clear why these two ex-mayors were summoned to the AGO for what type of charges, but earlier most of the governmental officials were accused of the corruption, misuse of their authorities and embezzlement, but was not brought to the court.
