4543556767Hezb-i-Islami leader, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar slammed the Taliban once again, saying the group is the main reason behind the U.S. forces presence in Afghanistan.

Speaking at a gathering in eastern Nangarhar province with the presence of Second Vice President, Sarwar Danish, National Security Advisor, Hanif Atmar and other high–ranking government officials, Hekmatyar said the Taliban has paved the ground for U.S. troops presence.

“You [the Taliban] paved the way for the Americans. Americans brought you [the Taliban] in order to make way for their presence. Every Afghan knows who and how you emerged and for what purpose.”

Earlier, Hekmatyar said the Taliban armed group’s fight has no legitimacy and it has no outcomes except murder and destruction.

In other part of his today’s speech, Hekmatyar said one of the National Unity Government (NUG) leaders should leave and put an end to power-share governance.

Welcoming Gulbuddin Hekmatyar to Afghanistan, VP Danish said the peace agreement with Hezb-e-Islami leader has followed many internal and external challenges.

“The implementation of accord was not easy, sabotages, distrusts, disappointments and lots of challenges were there.”

However, Hekmatyar’s return to Kabul is still unclear, but as it appears he might travel to the provinces where he has influence before coming to capital Kabul.
