The chief of staff of the Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Mawlawi Zakir in a meeting with Scott Smith, UNAMA’s political head, said that the laws in the country are made based on religion.

In a statement, Arg quoted Zakir as saying that the Islamic Emirate respects the work of all diplomats living in Afghanistan, adding that these diplomats should keep the existing principles in mind.

In this meeting, UNAMA’s political head said that there is an atmosphere of trust between UNAMA and the IEA, and they hope that the interaction of the acting government with the world will be strengthened.

Smith added that at the third Doha meeting, the countries opposed to the participation of the IEA were happy with the results of the meeting and many issues were clarified for them.

He stated that the IEA gives priority to dialogue and relations with the world.

The special representative of the UN Secretary-General, meanwhile, is scheduled to present a report on the situation in Afghanistan to the Security Council on September 18.
