Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi held a telephone conversation with Ismail Haniyeh, Hamas’ political leader, to offer him condolences over the martyrdom of three of his sons and family members, the ministry said in a statement.

Muttaqi said: “The blood of the martyrs will definitely bring color, and we believe that as a result of these sacrifices, the land of Palestine will be freed from the clutches of the Zionist invaders.”

Highlighting that Afghanistan also gained independence due to many sacrifices, Muttaqi asked the people of Palestine to exert perseverance, persistence and patience.

Haniyeh, meanwhile, also expressed his gratitude to Muttaqi for the condolences.

Calling the people of Afghanistan pioneers of the struggle for independence, Haniyeh said that Palestinians are walking in their footsteps hoping that their blood will also bring color.

Haniyeh conveyed warm regards to the Islamic Emirates’ supreme leader and the people of Afghanistan.

On Wednesday, seven members of Haniyeh’s family, including three of his sons, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza.
