NUG’s Tensions May Lead to Gov’t Collapse, Senators Warn

A number of Afghan senators have warned that if the National Unity Government (NUG) does not ease its differences and tensions, the system of government will be collapsed in the nearest time.

They have declared that the government leaders must consider the national interests and should not play with the destiny of the country and people.

“These tensions have a negative impact on people and Afghan security forces,” said Senator Asef Sidiqi.

Senator Safiullah Hashemi said, “The leaders should solve their differences, otherwise the country would face a huge crisis.”

The Senators emphasized that the tensions among government leaders will pave the way to the fall of the regime.

“The first vice president’s criticism from President is alarming. It will more weakens the regime,” said Senator Jamauddin Geyanwall.

Senator Lutfullah Babor also said, “We demand the leaders to maintain the national interests.”

Afghan senators stressed that Afghanistan is surrounded by some biased policies of the countries of the region and the world and it will not reach stability until they come out of this political blockade.
