Police arrest perpetrators for beating father, daughter in Sar-e Pul

A statement from ministry of interior says police have arrested five people for beating a woman and his father in Sar-e Pul province after the videos and reports emerged in social media.
The girl and her father were brutally beaten by villagers after they were accused by a fortune-teller for robbery, the MoI statement released on Saturday says.
According to the reports a house was robbed on 5th of August in Toghi village of Balkhab district, a foreteller has accused a villager for looting the house and then the man and her young daughter were brutally beaten by a tribal elder in public, the statement added.
MoI statement says they have arrested the perpetrators for committing a crime and violating the human rights of two citizens in public and they have furthered tasked local police officials in Sar-e Pul to investigate the case.
Powerful elders and militias usually perform illegal courts in different parts of the country without referring cases to the governmental institutions.
