Saturday Holiday Benefits Afghanistan in World Markets
If Saturday announced as an official weekend holiday, Afghanistan will have 50 additional days to have relations with the world countries.
Afghan government cabinet has approved Friday and Saturday as official weekend holidays after it was proposed by Minister of Labor and Social Affairs to replace Thursday half-day.
Afghan Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs have recommended the schedule to accommodate Afghanistan’s markets with the International markets in the world.
Saudi Arabia, United Emirates of Arab, Qatar, Aljazeera, Egypt, Kuwait, Turkey, Palestine, Malaysia, Yemen, Bangladesh and Pakistan are among the countries that have accepted Saturday as the weekend holiday.
At the same time Afghanistan’s Investment Support Agency (AISA) says this is a very important decision to increase relations with the countries.
“If the government could actualize Saturday as holiday the business contacts will be increased between the countries, we are still missing a lot of days in a year,” Qurban Haqjo the Chief of AISA said.
An official in Afghanistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) says Afghanistan used to leave many business days behind.
“We used to miss 208 days in a year, but now we will only miss 52 days,” Hassib Rahimi Chief Executive of ACCI in Kabul said.
Experts believe the new purposed plan will help Afghanistan in the economical sector to increase contacts in the market around the world.
