Members at the lower house of the parliament have sharply criticized the Government of Afghanistan to provide more details over the secret talks held between the Taliban representatives and Afghanistan envoys for the people.

Law makers at the house have urged that holding secret talks with Taliban raises questions and no credits should be given to the following armed group contrary to Afghanistan National interests, talks should be held with consideration of the people desires and achievements.

Mp Fawzia Kofi said,” Secret talks were held between the Taliban and Afghanistan envoys, this is somehow giving credits to Taliban, any efforts where Afghan people aren’t aware of will lead to a crisis.”

“A clear policy should be there to declare who should compromise and who should be negotiated with peace talks should be pursued seriously Mp Fakori Beheshti said.”

Meanwhile Taliban on Wednesday rejected the reports on holding secret talks on peace with Afghan government as baseless, a statement of the armed group sent to media said.

Xinhuanet news quoted that “No talks have been held with officials from Kabul regime, neither in Qatar, nor in other place and any report on the subject is baseless and fabricated,” the statement said.

The British daily The Guardian, according to local media reports reported recently that Mullah Abdul Manan had represented Taliban in the talks attended by Afghan government national spy chief Mohammad Masoom Stanekzai and presidential advisor on National Security Mohammad Hanif Atmar.

In the statement, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Majahid categorically stated that, “The stance of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (name of ousted Taliban regime) with regard to peace talks is clear” and has not changed a quote which was published by the xinhuanet news agency.

Afghan Government has been pushing through for years to open the peace negotiation gate for Taliban, but Taliban have always refused to do so instead they have intensified the terrorist activities in Afghanistan killing Afghans.
