FAO assessed current conditions and prospects using climate forecasts, remote-sensing data and consultations with farming communities across all 34 provinces.
According to them, Afghanistan needs an annual supply of 6.9 million tons in total. This leaves a shortfall of two million tons for solar year 1403.
