Taliban yet to be ready to join direct peace talks: Aziz
Pakistan Prime Minister National security advisor Sartaj Aziz has stated that Taliban aren’t ready to join direct peace talks process with Afghan Government, the following militant group has yet to respond to four Nation quadrilateral coordination group QCG.
Meanwhile US special envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan has declared the decision made by Taliban so disappointed, but Afghan Foreign Minister still demanded serious efforts to be made on peace talks process.
In first week of March, the Taliban issued a statement rejecting participation in the peace talks.
Stressing on withdrawal of the foreign troops from Afghanistan, exchange of prisoners and removal of its leaders names from the UN blacklist, the Taliban said that it would not participate in the direct talks with Afghan government unless the conditions were met.
Pakistan Prime Minister National Security advisor Sartaj Aziz said,” We believe that a clear message from Kabul address on peace with Taliban is a need, the quadrilateral coordination group have pushed through to have Taliban to come to direct negotiation for peace talks, some countries have created ideas among others that Pakistan is having fully control on Taliban therefore all the countries do expect Pakistan to do more on bringing Taliban into peace table.”
Meanwhile Pakistan Foreign Deputy Minister Mr. Azar Ahmad Chawdari said,” we will use any possibility to exert pressures on Taliban and Haqqani Network to come to peace table, and I expect the other three countries to do so.”
US special envoy for Afghanistan- Pakistan Richard Wilson said,” we have been pushing through to get Afghanistan reach its goal, I think we all become disappointed from the decision made by Taliban.”
Afghanistan Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani said,” Doors for peace talks process is opened for militants, we expect the four Nation countries to take their role seriously on ensuring peace in Afghanistan,”
The Former US Ambassador to Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad had stated that if Pakistan doesn’t change its policy on peace and stability of Afghanistan, the following country will be face same faith as North Korea country did.
Afghanistan Ambassador to Pakistan Omer Zakhialwal said,” there is no trust among the two countries, it has impacted all the other mutual issues, peace and stability of Afghanistan is in the favor of Pakistan.”
Afghan Government will not attend the fifth session of peace talk’s process unless Pakistan fulfills its commitments made in the quadrilateral peace talk’s session.
