Taliban’s coordinated attack plot foiled in Laghman, 6 militants arrested
In a statement the National Directorate of Security said a group of six terrorists belonging to the Taliban were arrested in connection to the attack plot.
The group was led by an individual named Rahmatullah who was assigned by a Taliban commander named Abdul Wahid Rahmani to perform the attack over the city.
Another five detained militants were identified as Habib ul Rahman also known as Bidar, Sayed Yaqoob, Abdul Saboor, Ghofran, and Zahidullah.
The statement added that 3 AK-47 with 18 magazines, 2 pistols, 2 binoculars, and some other military equipments were also seized from the militants.
According to the statement in a separate operative a Taliban member identified as Mumtaz who is originally from Ali Negar district of Laghman province was arrested with 29 KG of opium who was planning to shift the opium from Laghman to Khogyani district of Nangarhar province.
Taliban has not made a comment yet.
