More than ten months passed since the formation of the National Unity Government (NUG) but including the capital, 11 provinces of Afghanistan still do not have governors.

On 5 April 2014 Afghan voters went to the polls in a carnival atmosphere to elect their president but after the formation of a National Unity government, Afghanistan still does not seem to have a full government.

A number of Afghan analysts are said to consider the power-sharing by NUG leaders the reason for current turmoil in the country.

They warned of bad consequences if the current situation continues.

Kabul, Balkh, Ghazni, Nuristan, Badakhshan, Baghlan, Faryab, Takhar, Urozgan and Sar-e Pul are the provinces that still lack governors.

“Power-sharing between government leaders resulted in current controversy that will follow bad consequences if the same situation continues,” Aziz Rafi, head of Civil Society association said.

Ariananews tried to have Presidential Palace and Executive office’s comments regarding the issue but failed to succeed.

This comes as that Ahmad Zia Masoud, President special envoy for reforms and good governance warned the division of the government; adding the leaders of National Unity Government (NUG) are acting on the basis of ethnicity which is a dangerous issue for Afghanistan.
