15 year-old girl raped by father in Baghlan
Women’s affairs department in Baghlan said on Thursday that a 15 year-old girl was raped by her father.
Head of Women’s affairs department in Baghlan, Bano Khadija Yaqin confirmed the rape of 15 year old girl and said the girl was taken to Afghan Women’s Shelter.
She noted that the convict was arrested by police after a complaint was filed by the teenager girl.
“The case of 15 year-old girl is under serious investigation in cooperation with judicial institutions” Qaqin said.
The rape of 15-year-old is just one of several attacks on young Afghan teenagers which have come to light so far.
In the meantime Khadija Yaqin said they prevented three girls escaping to Iran.
Officials in Women’s affairs department in Baghlan said that exorbitant dowry and spending too much on weddings has led the cases of running away from home become more.
