50 killed as fighting between rival Taliban groups continues in Zabul
At least 50 Taliban militants were killed in southern Zabul province of Afghanistan after the two Taliban rival groups started fighting each other.
Mohmand Nasratyar, district governor of Arghandab said the clashes have launched between the groups since yesterday in Arghandab and Khak Afghan districts.
Nasratyar says the clashes have occurred between Mullah Mohammad Rasool militants, the Taliban splinter groups new supreme leader, and Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansoor fighters and still continues.
According to the sources nearly 40 militants belong to the Taliban breakaway faction has been killed and nearly 20 others have been arrested alive by Mansoor’s fighters while only ten fighters belong to Mansoor is killed.
Local officials say there is no report on civilian causalities.
Taliban group has yet to make any comment about the incident.
