9 Candidate Ministers to be introduced to Wolesi Jirga in 2 days: Mohaqeq

Sayed Mohammad Mohaqqeq, Second Deputy of Afghanistan Chief Executive Officer declared that the President and the Chief Executive have agreed to introduce some nominees for key ministries to Afghan Parliament not later than Tuesday.

He added that the National Unity Government cabinet will be finalized within the next 10 days.

Sayed Mohammad Mohqqeq said,” the main part of the cabinet might be announced by the President and the Chief Executive Officer today or the next day, the key economic and security sectors will be announced in another two days and the rest will be finalized too”.

On the other hand Moeen Marastial, one of the closest allies of President Ghani during the Presidential campaigns declared that nine ministers will be elected by the end of this week and the list recently released by Afghan media is incorrect.

In addition, the lawmakers believe that delays in the new cabinet formation is due to disagreements between the two leaders.

“They haven’t finalized the challenges regarding the new cabinet between the two teams yet, because you better understand there were different branches in each group and now they are asking for positions in the cabinet and this is really a big challenge,” Naqibullah Faiq, a member of Wolesi Jirga said.

Furthermore, Afghans are asking the two leaders to come to a conclusion regarding the new cabinet.

It is believed that one of the main reasons behind the recent insecurities in the country is delays in cabinet formation which resulted to have a negative impact in security and economic section in over all the country.
