Acting FM meets UNAMA’s new deputy in Kabul

Abdul Qahar Balkhi, the foreign ministry spokesman said in a post on X, that acting foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi has met with Indrika Ratwette, the new Deputy Special Representative of UNAMA.

Balkhi said that Muttaqi congratulated Ratwette on his new position and expressed gratitude to the former Deputy Director of UNAMA, Daniel Andres for his good management and efforts, and wished him success in his new tenure.

Muttaqi said that the IEA has created appropriate conditions for humanitarian and development work as demonstrated by the progress made in this domain over past two years, Balkhi added.

Referring to his previous job as the head of Asia-Pacific region of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Ratwette said that he had also exerted efforts to alleviate problems of Afghans, especially those residing in neighboring countries and the returnees.

He said that he is determined to work and support Afghans in the humanitarian and development fields.

Acting foreign minister also assured Ratwette of full support and cooperation.
