Acting governor officials cause widespread corruption in local organs

A number of provincial council members have said that the most of acting local officials caused widespread corruptions in the departments.

They have stressed that the national unity government should address the existence problems.

After the formation of national unity government all provinces of Afghanistan except two provinces have the acting governors.

Provincial council members who gathered in a meeting in Kabul said that the lack of governors in local offices caused widespread corruption and correct services not provided for the people.

Safdar Muhseni, head of Baghlan provincial council said, “This issue is alarming. We in the provinces are in a confusion situation, the acting governors do not feel responsible and people’s problems are not addressed.”

But officials in local organs are said to believe that the situation has not changed with the leadership of acting governors and the problem may be solved up to the next two or three weeks.

“We have the same problems as we had in the last six months. I hope the government ends the problems in the near future.” Farid Mamund Zai, technical deputy of local organs said.
