Kunduz-Khan Abad Highway Cleared of Taliban

Kunduz-Khan Abad highway has been completely cleared of the Taliban militants, officials confirmed.

Kunduz Chief of Police, General Rashid Bashir told Ariana News that Afghan security forces have jointly launched a clearance operation on the Kunduz-Khan Abad highway to crack down the Taliban presence.

Bashir said that the highway has been completely cleared of militants.

He added that Afghan forces have been deployed in the highway and the Taliban insurgents have fled the area.

“After this clearance operation, people will be able to travel through this route without any fear or tension,” said General Rashid Bashir.

The Kunduz-Khan Abad highway was under the control of Taliban for the past one month was considered one of the most insecure highways in Kunduz province.
