Afghan military forces will attack offensively over Taliban insurgent’s nests afterwards, officials said.
MoI spokesman, Sediq Sediqy speaking in a press conference said,” we are fully prepared for the upcoming season, we will attack offensively afterwards, we will actively engage in advance rather than reactions”.
During the last 13 years Afghan Security Forces was only responding to Taliban attacks, but it seems they are committed to alter their military strategies now.
The upcoming summer is a new season for Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) to take the initiative from the insurgents.
Currently Afghan forces have launched a clearance operation under the name of Zolfuqar in southwestern provinces of Afghanistan.
During the operations about 400 insurgents were killed and another 31 was arrested by ANSF members.
“The operation was launched on 15th of February which have resulted heavy causalities to our enemies, many villages were cleared from Taliban existence,” Sediqy said.
Recently a U.S. Intelligence Official said that Taliban probably will try to influence significant portions of Afghanistan on the upcoming year.
Now, Afghan forces are having the responsibility of all combat operations in Afghanistan against Taliban insurgents and other terrorist groups since the beginning of 2015 which have to tackle all threats alone.
