Afghan, US experts criticize Pakistan’s interventions in Afghanistan affairs
A number of Afghan and US experts in Washington have criticized the continuation of Pakistan’s interventions in Afghanistan affairs.
They have considered the recent position of Zulmay Khalil Zad in US congress Committee on Foreign Affairs and media effective in changing US policy against Pakistan; citing now the negative actions of Pakistan become clear for the United States.
Zulmay Khalil Zad, US congressman has demanded cutting off all US assistance to Pakistan to persuade Islamabad to act against the Afghan Taliban groups allegedly using its territory to launch operations into Afghanistan.
the assertions of Zalmay Khalilzad reflected in more media of the world that Pakistan is supporter of terrorism and should be drawn to international tribunal.
Khalilzad wanted the government of Afghanistan to lay down the documents and evidence indicates the involvement of Pakistan in making insecure Afghanistan at the disposal of the UN security council and at the same time wanted from the US government to cut its financial assistance to Pakistan and through severe measures and make this country recluse like North Korea.
“I believe, Khalilzad’s statements were accurate, but there are many other things to say,” David Hezbi, international expert said.
Meanwhile, a number of US and Afghan expert declared that now Pakistan’s performance become clear against America and this country should end it’s interventions against Afghanistan.
If Afghanistan is to become stable, it will be a country that maintains active and cordial but independent relations with all of its near and far neighbors and is not used to objectively threaten any other country.
In return, Afghanistan’s neighbors would have to refrain from interfering in its internal politics. Such a situation could provide extraordinary economic benefits and open up new political possibilities.
Afghanistan and its key partners, including the United States, will need to forge a political formula that provides for regional cooperation. But to get there, Pakistan needs to act in line with its own commitments.
