Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi has called on India and Pakistan to resolve their differences through dialogue. He also stressed that Afghanistan will not be a battlefield for rival powers.

In an interview with Al Jazeera TV channel broadcast Wednesday, Muttaqi said the Islamic Emirate is not in favor of conflict in the region.

“The policy of the Islamic Emirate is clear, we condemn all violent incidents in Pakistan or India. We’ve expressed condolences to both sides. We don’t support regional conflict & believe all issues should be resolved through dialogue,” Muttaqi said.

The acting foreign minister stressed that the Islamic Emirate will remain neutral in tensions between countries and wants positive competition and strong relations with countries through trade.

Our policy harms none, it’s balanced and independent,” he said.

On the visit by a US delegation to Kabul around a month ago, Muttaqi said that the visit opened a new chapter in US relations with Afghanistan.

He expressed hope that relations with the United States would gradually expand.

Daesh uses Telegram and TikTok for communication and funding: Afghan spy chief

Abdul Haq Wasiq, head of Afghanistan’s General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI), has said that Daesh uses social media platforms, including Telegram and TikTok, to communicate, secure financial resources and promote ideological diversion.

Wasiq made the remarks at the First SCO Plus Expert Dialogue on Security Issues in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

He said the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), based on its beliefs and convictions, is at the forefront of the fight against Daesh. However, he added that Afghanistan faces serious constraints in dismantling the technical capabilities of the group.

According to Wasiq, technology companies and operators of Telegram and TikTok do not cooperate with Afghanistan in efforts to counter Daesh activities, a situation he said allows the group greater room to operate around the world.

The intelligence chief added that Daesh causes significant civilian casualties each year through its activities in different countries.

The First SCO Plus Expert Dialogue on Security Issues was held in Samarkand on November 5 and 6. Representatives from 24 countries and five international organisations attended the event to discuss counterterrorism, extremism and emerging security threats.
