Canada warns ISIS influence in Afghanistan
Canada’s Spy Agency warned on Tuesday that Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) group is spreading to Afghanistan, Libya and Pakistan.
Michel Coulombe, the head of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service said, “ISIS started in Iraq and Syria, but what we’re seeing now, and you’ve seen it in media, it’s spreading in Libya, Afghanistan, Pakistan.”
However, Afghan defense ministry claimed that Afghanistan will never change to a haven for Daesh group.
The defense ministry is said to consider the appearance of Daesh group in Afghanistan is composed of those groups that were already in Taliban ranks.
Dawlat Waziri, deputy spokesman of the defense ministry said, “Not only for Afghanistan, but Daesh now become a threat to all the countries of the world.”
The presence of Daesh has been confirmed by some sources in some province of Afghanistan including Helmand, Logar, Ghazni and Zabul.
At the same time, Afghan interior ministry stressed that afghan troops have the ability to fight against any terrorist groups.
The abduction of 31 passengers in Zabul and burning of a pilgrimage in Logar are considered as Deash activities in Afghanistan.
According to sources, the ISIS group have lost a commander and dozens of its members in armed clashes between Afghan forces so far in Zabul.
