Afghan Chief Executive, Abdullah Abdullah says the biggest responsibility of the government is the security of people that the needed measures have not been taken so far.

“Insecurity is one of the biggest challenges against the government and despite Afghan forces’ efforts, the security situation has worsened than the past,” CEO said.

Abdullah Abdullah noted Afghan people have the right to be unsatisfied from the government in terms of security situation, but the government is also trying to reduce security threats in the country.

“The important issue for the government is security issues. There are many problems and people are unsatisfied. They have the right to be unsatisfied but they should give more chance that with their cooperation we can bring changes in security situations,” Abdullah said.

He emphasized the country is in a sensitive situation and Afghan people with different views must stand together against the enemies.

“Our demand is to stand united against the enemies and with all differences solve the biggest challenges of the country,” CEO added.

This comes as a suicide bomber rammed his car packed with explosives into a bus carrying government employees in the Afghan capital early today, killing 24 people and wounding 42 others.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the assault.

Monday’s suicide bombing, which targeted government personnel, continued the unrelenting violence that has killed more than 1,700 civilians in Afghanistan so far this year.
