Reportedly the Taliban militants have taken the control of Omna district in southeastern Paktika province of Afghanistan on Sunday morning after days of clashes with governmental forces.

A security source who was speaking on the condition of anonymity said the district fall to the hand of Taliban last night.

But provincial governor spokesman Nabiullah Peer Khail rejected the claims saying Afghan security forces have retreated from a security post and they are trying to retake the outpost with the support of fresh troops.

At the same time, Taliban also claimed that their militants are having control over the district building and police HQ.
