Eight mine planters were killed in their own mine blast in two separate incidents in Paktia and Maidan Wardak provinces of Afghanistan.

The Ministry of Interior of Afghanistan said in a statement, in the first incident a self-planted mine went off when a group of terrorists were planting a mine in a mosque in Sayed Karam district of Paktia in which five terrorists were killed and eight others were injured.

In the second similar incident, another three terrorists were killed in their own planted roadside bomb in Sayed Abad district of Maidan Wardak, the statement added.

Taliban has not made a comment about the incidents.

The insurgent groups have always used planting Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) as a weapon of their choice to target the Afghan security forces across the country.
