Explosion in Balkh Killed 14, Injured 28 Ashura Mourners

14 mourners were killed and 28 others were injured when a bomb hit the Ashura mourners at Balkh district of Balkh province early Wednesday afternoon security officials confirmed.

Balkh security Chief Abdul Razaq Qadiri said,” in the explosion 14 mourners were killed and 28 injured.”

According to his statement it was a road side bomb hit the Ashura mourner’s convoy in Khawja Ghulak area of Balkh district when they pass by.

The attack comes after 5 attackers who raided Ashura mourners at Sakhi Shrine of  Kart-i- Sakhi late Tuesday evening in Kabul city killed 16 Ashura Mourners and injured 55 others.
