Germany repatriates 83 ‘criminal’ Afghan refugees in 2025

German authorities have announced that 83 Afghan refugees who committed crimes were repatriated to Afghanistan in 2025.

Data from the German Foreign Nationals Registration Center indicates that by the end of November 2025, approximately 11,888 Afghan refugees had been registered in Germany and are required to leave the country.
Alexander Dobrindt, Germany’s Interior Minister, told Bild: “Repatriation of refugees must be possible, even to Afghanistan. Our society has essential interests that refugees who commit crimes here leave our country. We enforce this policy strictly.”
The report adds that the most recently repatriated individual had been accused of drug trafficking and had already served part of his sentence in Germany.
