Hezbi Islami claims some Taliban commanders to join peace talks soon
Head of negotiator delegation of Hezb-e Islami says a number of Top Taliban commanders will join the peace process but expresses concern over the intensify of attacks by Taliban extremists.
“Well-Known Taliban commanders will join the peace process in the upcoming weeks but the extermist commander have increased attacks on Hezb-e Islami houses,” said Karim Amin, Head of negotiator delegation of Hezb-e Islami.
Hezb-Islami has not commented about military forces in various provinces of the country but announced about giving information about releasing a number of security forces in the near future.
Hezb-e Islami is one of the parties involved in war against Afghan forces that now wants to end war in Afghanistan.
Previously, President Ashraf Ghani signed the peace deal with Gulbuddin Hekmatyar at Kabul’s presidential palace during a ceremony broadcast live on television.
The warlord Gulbuddin Hekmatyar called for peace as he appeared by video to sign a deal with President Ashraf Ghani, marking a symbolic victory in Kabul’s struggle to revive talks with the Taliban.
Signing of the deal has been welcomed by the international community as a possible template for any future peace deal with the Taliban, who have been fighting to overthrow the Kabul government for 15 years.
