IEC should guarantee transparent elections: Ahadi

Chairman of Afghanistan New National Front, Anwarul Haq Ahadi says that the parliamentary election and presidential election will be held simultaneously in October of the next year.

Afghanistan New National Front welcomes the specification of the upcoming election timeline; citing the Independent Election Commission (IEC) must guarantee the upcoming elections will be held transparent.

Ahadi demands holding an earlier presidential election simultaneously with parliamentary election; saying this action will be decrease the cost of the elections.

“We call for an earlier and transparent election by electoral bodies,” said Anwarul Haq Ahadi, chairman of Afghanistan New National Front.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ahadi considers the quartet meeting between Afghanistan, Pakistan, US and China would not provide any development for Peace Talks process.

“The quartet meeting is not a new issue. There will be only commitments not actions,” Ahadi noted.

The Afghanistan New National Front believes that the only way to reach stability and solving current challenges is holding an election far away from fraud and irregularities.
