Kabul CID Chief Dismissed from His Post

Mohammad Salem Almas the Chief of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Kabul Police has been dismissed from his position.

Kabul police spokesman Ferdows Faramarz said on Saturday that Mueenuddin Syal has been appointed as his replacement.

Later on, Kabul police said in a statement that the new CID Chief has officially assumed his position during a ceremony.

Security sources say that Gen. Almas dismissed due to increased criminal activities in the capital Kabul.
