Magnetic Bomb Injures District Governor In Eastern Afghanistan

The administrative chief of Bati Kot district was wounded in an explosion on Saturday.

Attaullah Khogyani, the provincial governor spokesman said, Haji Ghalib Mujahid the district governor of Bati Kot was wounded after a magnetic bomb placed in his vehicle went off in Du Saraka area of Laghman province on Saturday morning.

The incident took place around 7:30 am while he was travelling from Kabul to Bati Kot district in eastern Afghanistan.

The bombing left two people including the district governor and one of his bodyguards injured while his driver was killed.

The injured were taken to hospital for treatment.

No group had claimed responsibility for the attack by the time this report was filed.
