MoI debts 3.4 billion Afghanis to contractors
The lower house of Parliament on Wednesday session summoned officials of interior, defense and finance ministries due to not paying money to the contractors.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) acknowledges that the interior ministry is debtor to contractors due to consumption from the year 1391 to 1392.
The interior minister assured that the government will implement the money of contractors in four months.
“We assure that the problem will be solved. the contracts will be seen in four months and then the money will be paid,” Said Shafiq Qari Zada, deputy of finance ministry.
Meanwhile, a number of parliament members expressed concern over oil contracts of defense ministry; citing the government involves in these contracts.
“The oil contract is in a stage of fifty percent so far and still we failed to complete oil contract of the next year,” said Ghulam Sakhi, deputy of security of defense ministry.
This comes as the parliament assigned Committees of Defense Affairs, Internal Affairs, Finance and budget, Complaints and National Economy to invite Yama Yari chairman of procurement committee and officials of defense ministry to the joint commission and investigate the issue.
