More than Half of Afghans illiterate: Afghan Government

Officials in Government of Afghanistan have announced that more than half of the Afghan population is illiterate due to different reasons in the country.

First Afghan lady Bibi Gul said,” most of those Afghans who elder are illiterate, and those who are in the education process can’t learn, therefore awareness programs should be brought home to home.”

Based on the reports and estimation of the Afghanistan Government about 80 percent of the females and 50 percent of the males are illiterate.

She also criticized the current education system saying low quality of the education caused those students who completed 4th and 5th classes even can’t have the sufficient knowledge to read and write.

Afghan second vice President Sarwar Danish unfortunately most of elder Afghans are illiterate we have only about 31 percent literate persons in the country.

He insisted that proper measurements should be adopted to make the education process compulsory to all in Afghanistan.

Afghan first lady addressed the main reasons for Afghans being away from the education are the ongoing civil war, poor education system, none professional teachers, insecurity, having no access to right information, traditional life style, Afghan females are the most vulnerable people who have suffered from it.
