MPs Asks Immediate Result of Provincial Council Elections
The Wolesi Jirga, Lower House of the Parliament, has called on the immediate announcement of results from the Provincial Council Elections held on April 5.
A number of lawmakers on Saturday stated the Parliament is facing serious problems on legislation as two-third quorum of the Senate is empty.
“The fate of the Senate House and the fate of provincial election candidates are unclear so far. The results should be announced sooner,” deputy speaker Sideeq Ahmad Osmani expressed.
“The presidential issues are at least resolved now, why it is being delayed, the results must be announced whatever it is,” another lawmaker Munawar Shah Bahaduri noted.
The MPs once again got harsh on the government and asked the President to announce the cabinet as soon as possible.
But they urged the cabinet members from the previous government must not be introduced and given chance in the new government.
