Nangarhar Governor Resigns, Cites Non-Cooperation
Kunduzi made the announcement earlier this morning in a gathering attended by several tribal elders and governmental officials and accused the government with non-cooperation.
He said the central government has failed to implement the commitments made with him and there was lack of cooperation with him in solving some problems.
According to Kunduzi, there was a close cooperation between the people and local governance, but added he will not be able to continue his career anymore.
The resignation of Mr. Kunduzi needs to be approved by the President before he officially quite his position.
Nangarhar is one of the key provinces located in the eastern part of Afghanistan. It is divided into twenty-two districts and has a population of about 1.5 million with Jalalabad as its capital.
