Protests held in Herat and Balkh in support of Palestinians amid Hamas leader’s assassination
The protesters criticized that countries are silent about the violation of human rights and the Israeli genocide in Gaza. They called for Muslims to become more united.
The residents of Herat called the death of Ismail Haniyeh a “great loss” to the Islamic world. They announced their solidarity with the Palestinian people by chanting anti-Israel slogans.
In Herat rally, Deputy Governor Hayatullah Mohajer Farahi said that the assassination of the political leader of Hamas would enhance the unity of Muslims and that such events cannot create division among Muslims.
Some protestors, meanwhile, said that humanitarian aid to Gaza should not be stopped in the current situation, rather the countries bordering Palestine should open their borders to send humanitarian aid.
“As long as the Muslims do not suffer any calamity from the enemy, they will not wake up. This is not the first time. The enemy has repeatedly committed similar actions,” said a scholar in Herat.
