Qatar Extends 5 Taliban Senior leaders Travel Ban: Mof
Officials in Ministry of Foreign Affairs have said,” Qatar officials have extended the 5 senior Taliban member’s visas, As US-Qatar decided to extend visas for one more year.”
Their names are Khair Ulla Said Wali Khairkhwa, Mullah Mohammad Fazl, Mullah Norullah Nori, Abdul Haq Wasiq and Mohammad Nabi Omari.
The following Taliban commanders were released from Guantanamo bay jail, in trade with of US military Sgt, Bowe Bergdahl a year back.
Afghanistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Shekib Mustaghni said,” US-Qatar have agreed to extend the 5 Taliban leaders’ visas for one more year to stay in Qatar.”
Afghan senators have expressed deep concerns over their releasing and worsening of Afghanistan security affairs.
Senator Nisar Haris said,” we demand US Government not to intensify war in Afghanistan, we as Afghans are concerned.”
Head of the house Abdul Hadi Muslimyar said,” they should think about the National security of Afghanistan, we don’t know if they stay in Qatar under the restrictions.”
The government of Qatar has agreed to maintain the current restrictive conditions on these individuals as we continue these discussions.
Peace Talks process has been taken place, efforts made, and trips were taken but with no results for Afghanistan Government, the following policy has not impacted Taliban, they still fight against Afghan Government.
