Senior IEA official visits India amid growing ties
Hamdullah Zahid, Deputy Minister for Medicines and Food at Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Health under the Islamic Emirate, travelled to India last week to participate in a healthcare and pharmaceutical exhibition, Indian media reported on Saturday.
This visit comes as reports indicate that Amir Khan Muttaqi, the IEA’s Foreign Minister, is expected to visit India later this year, the Times of India reported.
Although India does not officially recognize the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, it is actively seeking to improve bilateral relations.
Recently, Suhail Shaheen, head of the IEA’s political office and Afghanistan’s envoy to Qatar, emphasized the need for both countries to strengthen ties, highlighting the importance of high-level visits between foreign ministers to advance this goal.
