Turkmenistan regards TAPI as a key project for diversifying its gas exports and strengthening regional economic cooperation.
The agreements cover exploration across the Kushk and Tirpul contract area in Herat, spanning approximately 23,317 square kilometers.
Herat Governor Mawlavi Islam Jar recently said construction of the TAPI pipeline in the province is expected to be completed within two months.
TAPI's gas supply will come from the Galkynysh field, one of the world's largest natural gas deposits, with estimated reserves exceeding 27 trillion cubic metres.
Once operational, the pipeline is expected to boost regional connectivity, generate transit revenues for Afghanistan, and strengthen energy cooperation across South and Central Asia.
