Unemployment challenges graduated nurses, midwives
More than 300 students graduated from Ghazanfar Institute of Health Sciences on Tuesday.
These youths have studied different medical branches like midwifery, nursing, Pharmacy, dental, radiology, and anesthesia.
They are professionals, but finding a job in big cities will not be an easy task.
Dr. Baseer Sarwar, Deputy Minister of public health said,” it is a matter of supply and demand, Afghanistan is not only faced with this problem, it is an international issue. We are struggling to find job opportunities for these youth, but finding a job in big cities is difficult”.
GIHS official calls on nurses, midwives and other graduated students to start practical jobs to deliver health services.
Dr. Kimya Aziz, Head of GHIS said,” Starting today they have to practically serve to the people, I am asking all of you to be loyal to the sacred profession of medicine”.
These complaints on lack of employment opportunities come while earlier Minister of Public Health has said that about 50% of Afghans have less access to fundamental health services especially in suburbs and remote areas.
