VP calls Farkhunda’s lynching a Shame for Afghan Nation, the Government
Afghan Second Vice-President Sarwar Danish called Farkhunda’s killing by mob a shame for the people and the government of Afghanistan.
He strongly condemned murder of Farkhunda, and promised to bring the perpetrators to justice.
“ Farkhunda’s tragedical martyrdom is a shame for both the people and the government, we are decisively committed to trial the perpetrators in the legal court and apply the justice over these criminals. Whoever neglected or neglect her case will be prosecuted and removed from their positions,” Danish warned.
After Farkhunda was killed by a mob in Kabul, police started the investigations and referred 46 cases of the accused, including 19 police members to the General Attorny’s Office.
Attorney General’s Office (AGO) of Afghanistan says there is no pressure over these cases and they are tirelessly working to finalize the cases.
AGO Spokesman Baseer Azizi said,” Attorney General’s Office of Afghanistan is working with its full authority given by the law. No one has exerted forces on us related to this case, nor can they. We can finalize our investigations over a period of one month and then we will submit the cases to a related legal court”.
Currently, Shah Du Shamshira Mosque; the place where Farkhunda was killed by a mob over the accusation of burning a holy Quran, has been shut down by the Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs and the superstationists around the Mosque has been removed too.
