Well-known Quran reciter Qari Barakatullah Saleem dies
Qari Barakatullah Saleem, Afghanistan’s renowned Quran reciter, has passed away following an illness in Kabul, one of the people close to him confirmed his death to Ariana News.
Qari Barakatullah Saleem began reciting the Holy Quran at the age of five and memorized it at eight.
According to reports, Barakatullah Saleem participated 12 times in the world competitions of Quran recitation, memorization, interpretation and Tajweed and he got first place in these competitions eight times.
The Islamic Emirate’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid in a post on X has described the death of Qari Barakatullah Saleem as a “great loss” for the country.
