WJ fails to name members of joint team to National Assembly
The Wolesi Jirga (WJ)-the Lower House of Parliament on Wednesday failed to introduce ten members of a joint parliamentary commission to the National Assembly.
The ten selected members with another ten senators will bargain on president’s legislative decree on electoral reforms to find ways on holding the national assembly and provincial council elections.
The lower house of parliament has decided to hold voting once again on the upcoming Sunday.
However, the Presidential Palace says that the leaders of National Unity Government have begun evaluations to find solutions for brining reforms in the system and electoral institutions.
The presidential citadel expect the National Assembly to soon announce the final result of President’s decree on electoral reforms.
“The Afghan government has respect to all the principles of democracy and we expect the joint committee to confirm president’s decree as soon as possible,” said Haroon Chakhansoori, President’s spokesman.
This comes as the Parliament representatives are the main factors to solve the electoral problems and holding the upcoming elections.
