Women buried Farkhunda who was beaten, burned by Mob
Farkhunda was buried in Panjsaad Famili area of Kabul on Sunday and her coffined body was accompanied by hundreds of Kabul residents, family members, civil society activist and governmental officials.
Hundreds of women were gathered in the cemetery for the funeral of 27-year-old Farkhunda and her death body was carried by women for the first time in the history of Afghanistan.
Her father says Farkhunda was a preacher herself and when she says to the talisman that they are wrong the mob kills her cruelly.
“Farkhunda went to pray at Shah-Du-Shamshira, then she advises a Mullah who was writing phylactery to stop this job, Mullah accuses her for burning Quran and now he has confessed that he was fooled and lied about Farkhunda to the mob,” Mohammad Nader Farkhunda’s father said.
At her graveside, the head of the interior ministry’s criminal investigation directorate, General Mohammad Zahir, said no evidence had been found to support those allegations.
He added,” we will prosecute the police officers who have neglected on their duties same us ordinary people, we have already started investigating police officers who were on duty, we have suspended the job of the police chief at the related precinct and we will trial all those who have neglected”.
A number of religious scholars who participated in the funeral ceremony condemned her murder.
Norrullah Hamaad a religious scholar said,” According to Holy Quran all those who are involved or even justify this murder will be punished by Allah in the hell.
It has been said that Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has appointed a fact-finding team to investigate closely the case.
Farkhunda was beaten to death by a mob accusing her burning Quran last Thursday.
