Women Should Speak for Themselves: Ghani Urged in Brussels Conference

Afghanistan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani who attended the pre Brussels conference has talked about the main issue of Afghan Women within the society, insisting that patriarchy is the main problems and barrier for Afghan Women.

During his speech on promoting Afghan Women’s rights President Ghani stated the time has come that the Afghan women speak for themselves.

He said,” Time has come that the Afghan women speak for themselves, equal opportunity needs to be provided for Afghan women to access same rights.”

Further he went and said,” Afghan Women are only active in waving carpets on economy sector, they should be empower to have access and rights to work in other economy aspects.

Demanding supports from the International community for the Afghan Women on taking part in other economy sections.

“Afghan Government in the new upcoming development programs would find places for Afghan women in development council’s districts and villages, Women rights would be maintained as 50/50 President Ghani in his statement insisted.”

Meanwhile High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said,” significant changes on the life of Afghan women are seen, but Afghan women should become more active on growing the economy of Afghanistan.
